SAIGON CITY TOUR

For those who’d appreciate a religious, cultural and traditional trip, these famous pagodas such as the Chinese style Jade Emperor temple and Thien Hau Temple worshipping the Lady of Thien Hau of Chinese community will be best for your choice. Both temples have been recognized as the national art architecture heritage. You will drive by the Chinese medicinal market and Silk market to see local’s activities. For a better understanding of the country, we’ll make a stop at Vietnam Historical Museum and Fine Art Handicraft Workplace and finish a day walking around Binh Tay market.

CU CHI TUNNELS (Half day)

Situated about 45km from Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi with more than 200km of underground tunnels is also a memorial place of many Vietnamese Martyrs during the struggle for independence. A short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed  and an hour exploring parts of the tunnel system will help you understand what it was like during war time in Vietnam.

CU CHI TUNNELS – CITY TOUR (Full Day)

A 2-hour drive away from the city to the Cu Chi – Ben Dinh tunnels where you can explore parts of the immense connecting underground tunnels network used as hiding spots during combats, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food, weapon caches and living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters. After a short introductory film about lives under tunnels, dicovery of secrets cellar-doors, you will have a quick tour around the museum of self-made weapons, shooting ranges, garment factory ammunition, the famous Hoang Cam Stove intake and chimney system which diffused and dissipated smoke from cooking which prevented aerial detection of smoke by American planes and experience the real life underground.

After having a local Vietnamese lunch, you’ll be back to Saigon to vist the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum that give you a clearer understanding of Vietnam war time. CU CHI TUNNELS AND CAO DAI HOLYSEE (Full Day)

A trip to Tay Ninh province near the Cambodian border, home of the unique Cao Dai sect, a relatively modern syncretistic, monotheistic religion whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religious is an odd mix between Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. You’ll see a giant sphere inside the Tay Ninh Holy See, a symbolism of the Divine Eye overseeing the universe.

After a local Vietnamese lunch, your next stop will be Cu Chi tunnels. At its heights, the tunnel network stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience of the underground life during war time.

CU CHI TUNNELS AND MEKONG DELTA TOUR (Full Day)

American soldiers used the term "Black Echo" to describe the conditions within the tunnels. For the local soldiers, life in the tunnels was difficult. Air, food and water were scarce and the tunnels were infested with ants, poisonous centipedes, scorpions, spiders and vermin. Most of the time, guerrillas would spend the day in the tunnels working or resting and come out only at night to scavenge for supplies, tend their crops, or engage the enemy in battle. The extended network of tunnels became one of the most important part of Vietnam war.

Leaving Cu Chi for My Tho, you’ll drive by the rice fields and have a traditional Vietnamese lunch. Enjoy a boat ride along the Mekong River, visit an orchard islet to observe the pastoral life. You’ll have a chance to relax, enjoy coconut candy, seasonal fruits, a cup of homemade honey tea and listen to traditional folk music of Southern Vietnam.

CAI BE FLOATING MARKET (Mekong Delta Full Day)

Vietnamese traditional dishes such as spring rolls, fish sauce, cakes wrapped in coconut leaves are becoming more and more well-known. A trip to the Mekong delta to see how everything is made will be a very exciting experience. Leaving Saigon to visit Cai Be colorful floating market, where you’ll be cruising along the river and have chances to bargain with locals for fresh fruits and vegetables. Then stop by the handicraft village to observe the making process of the rice-net for spring rolls, the fermented fish sauce and soya sauce, cooking salt and the process of sewing coconut leaves for cottage roof. An optional stop can be made at local shops where you can see how rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice and pop-corn are made.

A delicious lunch will be served at an over-170-year-old ancient house. After lunch and a short break, the rowing boat will take you further into the countryside through smaller canals. You’ll see tradional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves along the ride with some activities of local farmers picking up fruits or catching fishes using ancestral techniques. You can also try discovering parts of the village by riding bikes on narrow paths just like how the local people do. The cruise will end at Cai Be pier.
